hey chuck this is a great collection of science stuff. science was seen as important back in the days of the reality based america...now we find all we need to know in the flashes of light pulsed into our brains as cheney channels the monster gorgo and sends the waves into our skulls thru the tv set.

No, I think that nuclear weapons are still the greatest threat. US & Russia still has thousands of them. If they were to be used on major cities hundreds of millions of people could die.

Still, I agree that a 1918 pandemic is arguably our second greatest threat although nanotech and biotech could threaten humanity.
