Gravatar Hi Tim:

This is Sherry Weddell. I happened across your comment and am glad that you are taking the inventory and that you know that it is not a test! I'm also delighted that you are a happy ex-Catholic and remember very clearly how excited I was to be received (in my case at Christmas time).

I'd be interested in how your RCIA team explains to you the significance of your scores since taking the inventory is not discernment per se and the inventory was meant to be used in the context of a workshop in which all that is explained and not by itself.

What parish are you joining?

You might be interested in visiting our blog Intentional Disciples where we talk about the charisms and discernment quite regularly as well as all things related to being lay Catholics in the 21st century.

Anyway, welcome to "the fullness of the Incarnation" as one friend put it when when I was received. May the remainder of your Lent and your Holy Week and Easter be filled with joy and blessings.

Heh, I think you meant to say ex-Protestant. Anyway, I'm pretty happy too. I'll be joining Our Lady of the Lake parish.

In class before we took the inventory, Bill told us generally what it was meant to measure. We were told to answer as quickly as possible and not to try to "second-guess" what a statement meant - i.e., "How would I answer this if I wanted to do a certain task in the Church."

I know Bill seemed pretty anxious to go over the inventory and our scores more in depth, so Sister may have to wait one more week to deliver her class on the Eucharist.

Gravatar I take that back. I guess we're already on schedule to discuss the scores, and how they will help us fit into parish life, in two weeks.
