I guess I am more like your husband (unfortunately). I really WANT to help and like the IDEA of volunteerism, but somehow think that if I am putting in my time and energies then others should appreciate it by doing their jobs well and not taking advantage (when I end up doing more since they didn't do their agreed upon task). It absolutely doesn't make sense, I know. I think it has more to do with my "issues" than anything. I constantly get after my husband for giving old ladies rides to church when others don't take a turn and it uses alot of gas-petty, petty. I am glad you wrote what you did. I need to work on resolving what it is all about since our world needs more people to do what should be done without looking for compensation. It really does come back to you in good energy!
I believe the PTA newsletters that go home from our school are printed on the school copiers. Why isn't it possible, since it is a school newsletter, to do something like that? Or, since it's for school-how about seeing if someone will step up and give you discounted printing? Businesses get write-offs for tax purposes.
