How wonderful. Your little N sounds like a gorgeous little kid. (Makes my heart sing!) My Grandparents were Scottish and they used to call me 'wee hen' and my friends thought that was really weird!
Lovely post.

I grew up in NY, and when I moved to CT, the tough kids in the neighborhood just didn't sound so touch without the New Yawk accent lol!

Now that I'm in NY, I hear all the little NY "differences" that I used to notice in your speech. Like carriage instead of stroller, and pocketbook instead of purse :D. Though I don't remember you talking about waiting ON line, instead of IN line at the grocery store, etc. That one still throws me.

Paula-now you've got me thinking about how I say things. Took me a while, but I converted from pocketbook to purse as that's what they say up here. I think I still say 'waiting on line' and not in line. For me a carriage and a stroller are different. I kind of miss my New Yawk accent
