Gravatar This sounds a lot like sensory integration dysfunction to me (the nonprofessional with a sensory screwy kid). They probably WON'T want to medicate him. They probably WILl want to give him OT and maybe socialization therapy, and you can demand that the school district meet his special needs so he can receive a good education. Check out "The Out-of-Sync Child" (can't remember the author). I've been lurking a bit, and just had to say SOMETHING! At least yours talks...

Gravatar (o.k. i feel bad being anonymous, dont want to freak youout about strangers reading your blog but you
wouldn't know me anyway, and i aint no professional, like you are, but )
yeah, gotta agree with sunshyn, for which disease are you thinking they are going to medicate him? meds sound unlikely,
ontheotherhand- integrated diagnosis sounds sooooo cool (especially since I have a friend who is not agressively going after diagnosis and tx of a seemingly autistic spectrum toddler. she
is ambivalent too, but boy would she be excited to have that kind of diagnostic help in her completely lacking resources/wasting federal grants, jerky town. )
can't address sig. other issue, cause, yeah, if it were me , that would be enough to shake my faith in going for it. I really need my sig other to
"give good agreement" , or i start backtracking, and feeling sick and undecided.
once in a while my best friend being totally in favor of a certain path can give me some courage, even if S.O. is unsure.
do you have anybody else to cover that base until Baroy comes barreling back
shouting "hell yes you're so right, get our kid some of that now"?
good luck, he sounds like the cutest little kid, and you sound like a great mom.
