The family that drives a nice car... may be receiving financial aid from their youngest kid's preschool.
That's not factored into the scholarship decisions?

Wow...that is a lot of personal information that is shared with people that you know and may associate with.

I'd definitely have a problem, if I was another parent, with you having all that information as an unpaid (I'm assuming you're unpaid) volunteer. There's nothing keeping you (I'm sure you're a decent person, but still...) from gossiping about this info or using it to your advantage if given the opportunity. No, I'm not saying YOU'D do that, but the fact remains someone in your position could...Yikes.

Um, maybe I missed something, but I don't think she's just any unpaid volunteer - she's a board member. I'm guessing that board members get briefed on organizational finances, and maybe even participate in scholarship decisions, as a part of serving on the board.

It's a fact of life in parent-run cooperative schools. None of the coop schools I've been involved with have staff for processing tuition payments; they all have parents do that.

That is the phenomenon that The Millionaire Next Door calls big hat, no cattle. It's amazing how deceptive appearances can be.
