Gravatar House hunting -- always trying. More houses will come along -- stick it out for the house that's right. It's a shame to walk away from the big Victorian just because it's too big. If you can swing it $$-wise, buy it. You can always block off part of the house so you don't heat it to cut down utility costs.

As a former landlord, getting involved with the rental deal can work out great or it can work out really, really badly.

Think about a house-sharing/co-housing deal with someone you know as a possible approach. Or open an in-home daycare center
