Is this correct: by moving on to the 700 minute a month plan, the sales man on the phone backdated the minutes over used to be included in the new 700 minute plan. What a shrewd way of doing it.

Hey, thanks for posting this. I just got a huge cell phone bill that is extra large due to a recent cancer diagnosis in our family (lots more phone calls). I probably would have just paid it, but your post inspired me to call my cell phone carrier and ask for a better deal going forward in addition to a retroactive application of that better deal. They set me up with a better deal and a partial credit for back charges. They don't retroactively apply the better deal, but at least I got the partial credit just for asking.
I've been following your blog for a while now. Great blog. As a mom, I especially love the entries about your son. Love his comments!

UVG: Not sure yet. I think they might have given me a credit but not backdated my minutes. I haven't gotten the next bill and they've been slow to update my online acct info.
LM: Thanks for the kind words. Glad you like the site and that I was able to save you a bit of money.

I have Cingular too. One easy way of checking your minutes is calling *646# -stands for *MIN#. Your phone will say please wait and then let you know that a text will be coming shortly. The text is completely free and I find it's much easier than calling some number to check your minutes plus it's free. (Check their website if you want.)
Also, *3282# -*DATA#- is the same thing but to check your text message balance (for those of us who aren't on an unlimited texting plan).
