Traci,
I kept a fortune taped to my monitor while building 2 Virtues. It read:
Many a false step is made by standing still.
It inspired me to take one small step each day towards growing my business.
I love your fortunes--the first one is actually a quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson. The second one, well...we all know how problems can help us grow & later turn into stepping stones.

Yes, do remember.
I have to say Fortune #2 resonates deeply with me. But I'm hopeful and keeping the faith.
As my sister-in-law would say: Onward & Upward!
Thanks for an uplifting post!

Thanks ladies - I knew there were other mom entrepreneurs out there who "live by the cookies". I am not a supersticious person - but I believe in the cookies!

I love fortune cookies! They always know exactly what you need to see/read to take that next step! Mine is in my walllet and it says,
Take the hand of the child and you will never get lost again.

I love living life by the cookies.
My husband even keeps one in his wallet. It's so old and worn, you can't even read it aymore, but he still has it!

I love a good fortune! There's a company, www.goodfortunes.com, that sends out huge fortune cookies with your personal message as the fortune! I sent them as gifts one year, and they were a hit. On my desk, I have a quote that reads,"Always do right -- this will gratify some and astonish the rest." Mark Twain.

My husband got a fortune while we were dating that said "stop searching, true happiness is right next to you." and I was sitting right next to him.
I taped it to his computer monitor as a joke.
When he proposed (about a year+ later) he put a fortune in a cookie and it said, "I have stopped searching as I have found true happiness. Jo will you marry me."
You can quess what the answer was!

I've always found power in quotes, even if they come from fortune cookies.
There is something about a short-clever quote that can say a lot in so little.
I collect thoughts like that and find myself saying them as I need a little boost, kind of like eating a fortune cookie after a Chinese meal, when you need a little something to finish it off, what's better than a thought provoking cookie!

"You cannot discover new oceans unless you are willing to lose site of the shore"
That hung in my husband's cubicle until the day it told him to quit. Now it is on the corkboard in our home office
