Gravatar History teaches us that winners and losers are never sure things until after the decision has been reached. Winning may be tough. Losing is out of the question

What is depressing about this post is twofold:
A.That you had to even post it after everything that has happened &
B.The people to whom you are directing it are beyond hope of accepting the truth of what you are saying.
The battle against the Islamofascist monsters is one that can be easily won.Not quickly won,but easily won.The battle against the rot within our own ranks is much tougher but is the more important front,in the final analysis.

Gravatar I am fully aware that victory over the barbarians cannot be acknowledged as a GOOD THING by our domestic political minority.

It's going to make it a tough fight. Much tougher than it really should be.

And once we've won (I pray the cost is not too high) we'll still have to deal with THEM.

Gravatar Hey, nice blog! I came to visit you after reading on Totten's that you are blogging. I always enjoy your posts.

How's the skiing in Park City this week? Do you think it will be less or more crowded on Super Bowl Sunday?

Gravatar Patricia -

I'm no skier. Having said that, I think that Park City is always a zoo when the snow is this good. That's compared to to the resorts up above Salt Lake (Alta or Brighton). I guess that the Sundance Film Festival will be over before the Bowl - but there may well still be an extra couple of thousand of people crammed onto Main in Park City for the game. If you're just in it for the skiing I'd recommend skipping Vail West.

Make a day trip up for the shops, but save a hundred dollars a night on hotel rooms by staying in Salt Lake and bussing up the canyon instead of driving. Everything there is to see in the touristy line is mostly on Main, and frankly I could die a happy man without ever hearing another shopfront shill extolling timeshares or asking me to check out the newest craze in country art/essential oils/Chinese- manufactured genuine native American collectibles.

I love travel. I hate being treated like a tourist. Guess that comes through, though...

Gravatar Good post. I concur with you. The Salafists can and will be defeated but that internal political minority will never acknowledge that victory. Pessimism, for all intents and purposes, imbued with religious faith, will remain as the substance of their souls, and anti Americanism and anti Zionism will remain their tenets.

Gravatar I posted my long reply in MJT's comments, but think it important to mention that even a GOOD THING, like freedom in Iraq, can cost too much.

My own long term critique of the Left is that they refuse to accept that Iraqi Freedom is a good thing -- so any costs are too high.

There is the factual question on Iraqi civilians, how many? (I don't believe the Lancet study of 100 000, plus minus 90%, is useful) There is the value question -- was this too many?

See more on Too Many?

I think your complaint about me raising this question is way way off.
