My thoughts about this "new spin off" exactly! Wasn't impressed with the idea in the first place, tried to get into it, didn't; tried again and got nauseous (sp?) and then heard the same line and switched it off--I am done! But, oh boy still love the original NCIS!! Use to enjoy "The Unit" until something happened to their writing staff. It feels as if they lost their concern for our fighting men, and just wanted to make points with happy crowd in Hollywood.

We are big fans of the original, too.
When I saw the pilot for the LA version I got a little twinge of the same feeling I got when "CSI" spread from Vegas to Miami to New York... and lost focus and our interest shortly thereafter.
Oh, and Mrs. Utah pointed out that the LA version is on Tuesdays and the real deal still shows on Thursdays. So it's Tuesdays that are opened up.

Nope-not for us. In two major markets that I am familiar with, the time slot for the original is 8:00 on Tuesdays, with the new imitation following directly after that at 9:00 same station.

It was that way with CSI. Sure the scientific work was a bit "accelerated" (what takes weeks, was done in minutes), but it was still enjoyable, with the interplay of characters that looked and acted like real people. The spinoffs? Big breasted women wearing skin tight designer clothes in implausible plots filled with over the top acting. I can't bear to watch any of them.
