Believe it or not Coleman, I tried that. The story was actually alot longer with more swatting, and more lifting and slamming of the toilet lid. I figured I'd better cut it down so that I didn't make it any more boring than it already was! He was one of those skinny flies -- all trim and fit -- so he didn't get sucked in easily.
And come on Fancy! What would be satisfying about that? OK, role-playing: You are a fly. You are bent on invading peoples homes and buzzing around incessantly. You are given the option of either a quick and timely death as a splotch next to The Family Circus on a biweekly newsprint, or a horribly slow and agonizing death in a dark vortex.
I think we can agree that the vortex is the less desireable end for the fly. Serves him right for... flying... and stuff.
I would pay big bucks to have seen that. I know it's too late for me to witness that particular scene, but just in case there's any chance that a similar thing might happen again, could you install a video camera in your bathroom?

Well Karla, the video camera might be a bad idea. Hey -- maybe every once in awhile you might see something entertaining, but imagine all the unsightly things you'd have to watch in the mean-time. This may include (but is not limited to) me relieving myself, me nude, me doing the naked macarena etc etc. I think we can agree that no greater good can come out of my bathroom being camerafied.
And lesleyanne: consider it done. Actually, I forgot to, but I'm sure he made it!
