Don't feel bad pat. I attempted the worm my frosh year in university. Little did I know actually done it, but when I got up....people started pointing to my chin and they could actually see all my blood covered veins and arteries. I needed 10 stiches. Lucky for me I was drunk as fuck and it didn't hurt.
