Leave a message for the family and friends of Bryan

My hubby has been talking off and on for years now about leaving the country. With this election I have to say I'm starting to at least give in to the idea of it. What will America do when all those treacherous gays leave the country? Bad hair. Bad design. Bad clothes. No creative thinking. I bet if we did the research, Rome fell when we all moved to Palm Springs.

The Netherlands, the UK, and Canada are all on my research list.

Well F*** them, I'm not going. Not yet anyway. This is still my country. When they're successful in passing a federal Constitutional amendment, well, then that
's when we go. Until then we fight and win over supporters. Read Chris Crain's article in this weeks Southern Voice. He's right. If you believe polls, 35% of Americans support "civil unions" and 26% support full "marriage". That makes 61%. All we have to do is convince those 35% that the difference between "civil unions" and "marriage" is wordage. (You'll have to ask Roger for the exact wordage.) Sorry, couldn't resist. Anyway, I'll take "civil unions" just as long as it containes exactly the same rights and responsibilities as "hetero marriage". Who cares what we call it as long as it does the same thing?

Favorite quote from this week's SOVO "Sound Off"
"...a co-worker told me I was going to hell. He told me to find one point in the Bible where homosexuality was accepted by God. I found and entire Bible. I did not tell him my findings, only that I am at peace and he cannot change the way I am or feel..." AMEN sister! That's how you respond to them. "I am at peace and nothing you do or say will change that." And then you walk.

Brian - that's probably good advice. I still think Canada is a viable option, though!
