I really hate America's dependence on oil. Where I live in Arizona, it seems 2/3's of the vehicles on the road are huge, gas guzzling SUV's. Public transportation barely exists other that bus service. Only the poor use it.

I'm afraid it's going to take something drastic like insanely high gas prices to bring about change. Besides, in Europe, aren't gas prices of over $2/gallon quite common? They have learned to adjust, and so should we.
