Tom, the reason Palm are in a mess is because they lack the visionary common sense leadership of Jeff Hawkins who designed the original Palm 'Pilot' by carving it out of a piece of wood until it fit his hand perfectly. Currently, Apple are doing the innovating. Put a visionary back in charge of Palm, and good stuff will happen... :-)

Absolutely. Palm used to be innovators in design. There are still fragments of that left in some of their products - I love my Palm TX. But there's no more design innovation going on there.
