Tom, the reason Palm are in a mess is because they lack the visionary common sense leadership of Jeff Hawkins who designed the original Palm 'Pilot' by carving it out of a piece of wood until it fit his hand perfectly. Currently, Apple are doing the innovating. Put a visionary back in charge of Palm, and good stuff will happen...

Absolutely. Palm used to be innovators in design. There are still fragments of that left in some of their products - I love my Palm TX. But there's no more design innovation going on there.
