Been using PHP 5 for some time, but relying on old PEAR, or other libraries to do most of the XML processing I needed.
Just recently, I looked at PHP 5 DOM and said wow, that's great, and simple to use.
I think SimpleXML won a lot of the initial hype when PHP 5 was released. Maybe because of it's name.
DOM always conjurs up hair pulling from my early Javascript DOM days. Not that was a headache. (Still is sometimes)
