A fellow I met worked with survivors of torture. (My X worked with survivors of sexual violence, so ...) Something he said really rang with me: the more the victim cries out, the worse the abuse. It's truly and literally a hellish scenario.
Civil societies ... Kant's "Essay on Perpetual Peace"; we don't poison wells or salt the ground (Big deal!) ... we don't assassinate *cough* ... and we don't beggar our enemies. *Oh-wooops!*
When we fail to practice what we profess we write the handbook for such as Taleban and Al-Queda. Which we have done, most succesfully. It's a pain-filled scenario.
So ... tally-ho, yes?
