I couldn't agree with you more. More compassion is definitely needed. Business people need to talk to people as people.
Circumcision falls squarely into any sensible definition of "child abuse", and should be treated as such. No special legal status is necessary.
If you strap a baby down and cut off his arm, you'll spend a good number of years having a less-than-great time in prison. Circumcision is no less abusive.
And let's not forget the lack of anesthetic and the increased sensitivity of babies.
