If most people want morality for themselves and for others, then it will work anyway. If there is a minority which wants no morals, then they'll be evil anyway, because religion is not a thing that is hard to unbelieve.
But I'm afraid that it's mostly like this: "I don't want morality for myself, but I want to sell it to others". I.e. religion as a thing used to injure people... But then it's only a lie, doesn't work and the lie will eventually disappear anyway.
