re: philosophy v. religious ed...couldn't agree more! HEors in UK are seeing an increasing number of people leaving schools because their children were being exposed to peculiar ideas which were completely unsuited to the community they came from. For example, one teacher in our area appeared to be trying to convert her class to Buddhism, presenting the ideas utterly uncritically, and with a clear bias.
