Passwords may be over for you, but for the vast majority of computer users, Open ID is scary stuff. And don't even think of explaining personal certificates.
Unfortunately passwords are going to be with us for a very, very long time.

Talking about writing documents: I actually only write in Lyx to create PDFs today for my research assignment.
Do you know if there is a simple read-only-office-suite that can read most MS and Open Documents? This would just save me the diskspace ;)

You could just e-mail the files to yourself at Gmail and open them up in Google Docs. That's the best I can think of, and it would take up precisely zero megabytes of hard drive.
