Hi Tom,

Sorry you didn't like the NXTbook you read. I'll somewhat disagree with you about one aspect and wholeheartedly agree with you about another:

1.)RE: Converting magazine format to screen format. This is something every publisher struggles with, but the economic realities are that many traditional publishers can't afford to hire a second person to reformat content to the web. A successful digital magazine will enjoy 20% of the readership of the print edition. To most publishers, this won't justify the necessary expenditure of another content producer. However, our content is pushed to an XML file, so the publisher who has the time, interest, money and inclination to reformat their content may easily do so. The technology is there - each publisher must decide what works best for their business model.

2.) RE:individual links. You are 100% correct. Look for an announcement from us re: some new features in the near future. If you don't mind, I'll be sure to let you know, as we'd love your feedback.

Thanks for the quick response. I just think it's unfortunate that people will move their content to this format rather than putting it online in text format. Good to see that they will be permalinkable though.

Hi Tom,

Just as a follow up to my earlier post, we've just released a new feature on our product that enables for permalinks and single post submissions to digg and del.icio.us. It will be included on all future editions of publication (unless the publisher prefers the older tool bar). You can view an example here: http://www.nxtbook.com/nxtbooks/...phillygold2006/

Thanks again for your comments. :)
