I'd be interested to hear your opinions on the Mac ownership experience as I'm strongly considering getting a MacBook when I next change my computer.

Todd: It's great until something goes wrong. Then it's really bloody annoying. I'll be a hypocrite here and say: wait until the next revision of the MacBook before you buy. Hopefully, they'll fix the problems with the MB. Apple works differently from everybody else - in that they never acknowledge their errors until the whole world is knocking on their door bitching about it.
That said, except the accessories (batteries, chargers and so on), the machines are pretty well built. The desktop machines are even better. My old blue iMac that I bought back in 1999 is still running great (we're gonna replace the HDD soon so that it can hold more music).
