It's hard to look at the facts released so far and believe he's getting a fair shake. Looks to me ike some non-combatant REMFs are getting worked up over what was a good shooting - all on the say-so of a man who had a personal grudge going against the LT.
From what's here, this never should have made it out of the Article 32 investigation. He's right, too, that even if he's vindicated, this has ruined his career. Barring some new evidence, I'm ashamed of the Marine Corp over this one.
And that stupid, stupid comment from the reporter about reloading. It reminds me of the recurrent MSM bleat about how 42 shots = excessive force. That's just wrong. The first shot may be excessive - but if it's not, none of the following shots are either. If you're justified in shooting somebody, you're justified in shooting until you're absolutely, completely, dead-certain that they're no longer a threat.

Thx for the comments. Makes me feel better that I'm not just operating from emotions on this one.

Hey,what would you expect from the dumb clucks in the media,These folks need to start serving so in our armed forces and actually do a some homework about how warfare works then they would not continue to utter such asssanine nonsense of things they know thinf about. Also The Marines are not living up to their motto of "Semper Fidelis" I think these obsteperous Higher ups should realize they've already lost the PR battle on this. But these people should be made to pay a price and not have a career if they are going to treat this officer this way.
