I remember when one CPT came home for R&R, a wife asked him about some soldiers. She said she couldn't imagine them being serious because they were a bunch of 19-yr-old goofballs. This CPT said something I won't soon forget: They may have left home as goofballs, but after six months in Iraq, they were all serious men. They had grown up that fast.
