Gravatar I watched it and shed some tears at each story. I thought it was done in a good light, considering the sacrifices their families have made as well. It certainly reaffirms my resolve that this may turn out to be the "Greatest Generation" after all. God bless America.

Gravatar This was an extremely well-done documentary, Toni. I'm pleased that viewers now know the kind of men and women they have on the front line of freedom.

I well understand the grief and point of view expressed by the young widow, but I think she has yet to internalize or understand that her husband was doing what he loved to do: he was serving as a U. S. Marine.

No one enjoys being in combat, but those who are develop bonds with their comrades that last a life time. To the Marines of Lima 3/5, those who gave up their lives will forever be true heroes and this is something that will never change.

One thing was left out . . . those Marines who came through the ordeal will for the remainder of their lives be plagued with "survivor's guilt." No one walks away who is not a casualty in some form or fashion.

God has blessed America with young men such as these -- and it is my prayer than he continue to do so.

Gravatar Mustang sez it well. This is what "Over there" is really like.

Gravatar I saw a bit of it and was ASTOUNDED that this was on network television ... AMAZING.

Gravatar It was a wonderful and moving tribute to our armed forces and their sacrifice. A little overly dramatic at times, but dammit, this is THE drama of our times.

Glad that Fox is paying attention to the b'sphere. If they plan a re-run I certainly would want to announce it on my blog.

Gravatar Fox is evidently selective in who they emailed. I wrote a somewhat less flattering review of the show and haven't heard a peep from them.

Gravatar GunnNutt - I read your comments on the show and to be honest most of your points I can't argue about. BUT, aside from some of Palkots boneheaded questions and all the commercial breaks it was still a good show. There was still alot of honor paid to these Marines and I do give Palkot points for just being there which is alot more than can be said for most of the tv reporters out there. Then I also give credit to Fox for airing it. It wasn't a "if it bleeds it leads" type of special. My thoughts are to give credit and hope this encourages more of this type of reporting.

Gravatar Cool. I'll try to catch it in September.

Gravatar I watched it. It was well done. But I confess there were a couple of times I wanted to smack the reporter.
