Great post...it leads to many possibilities. You have insurgents from Syria supporting the former Bath party and radical Sunni militias while from the South you have Iran supporting the Iraqi Shi'ites. I think the first thing that would happen would be a bloody civil war that could actually divide the world of Islam even further. Saudi Arabia is already growing wary of a more powerful Iran. Maybe the northern Kurds would be able to form a small independent state. Nothing good would come and that's for sure.
