Isn't that always the case when your goal is to develop independence in another person. My main goal in parenting is to raise a child that doesn't need me anymore and yet with each step in the process I'm sad, and I know I'll cry when they go off to college.
Amy, Yup you are right. Timely comment since school started today - and at our house it was the first day of Kindergarten for one of ours...

Amy, my mom had similar goals. and she did cry when she left. but she keeps saying over and over that she's glad i'm here (i think she's trying to convince herself) :-P. but we're closer than ever because she gave us that independence and christopher and hannah and you will be too!!
hey you and my emily started a new phase of life together..
my emily loved it. this morning she told us that if it thunderstormed, they would close school.
