I have a friend who's a missionary and a card carrying futurist. He's a part of a group of people including NASA engineers etc who are asking questions about the future of missions. While I don't totally understand what he's talking about. He points out that every major settlement into new territory on earth was closely accompanied by missionaries.

I'm not sure how to take it when he talks like that... but he's pretty dang smart.
