When you call, one of the first things you do is punch in your credit card number, and yet, when you get a live human being on the line, they ask you for the number again. |

They also ask for your address or phone number . . . not because they need it to know what you what, but to help detect and prevent fraud. THAT is even scarier technology in action. |
