Well - in three letters to Speaker of the House Hastert I have been unable to get any response other than that he's "monitoring" the situation. ANYBODY can MONITOR the situation...but how many of us can actually have a potentially great influence over events like, say, a speaker of the house?

I don't know whether I should just keep writing or give up and try something else. It is a maddening situation.
