We got precisely what we deserved - a sorry-assed whupping by the $%#&&*! Leafs! Maybe this will catch our attention.
Losses like this hurt, and they will continue to do so. But there are at least 20 more to come, so we'd better et used to it.
Remembering what I wrote preseason. We will not know how Gainey's moves (i.e., Grabovski for Laraque and Streit for Lang) have paid off until May if we get there. I think the thinking may have been that the new duo would be there on those nights, while the other 2 would not.
4 points this week will go a long way to making sure dreams of May are stoked for another week..
Awful game. I don't think any of our defenders deserved to make the dome, they were absent for most of the game. I commented last night that when we were in the Leafs' end, you saw 3 blue shirts in front of the net and no white ones; in our own end you only saw 2 blue jerseys but still no white ones.
The Leafs skated circles around us for the entire game. I'm going to submit that maybe this is a fitness problem, as it seems that the Habs haven't really played a full 60 minutes so far season. We didn't have men fighting it out in front of the net. We had people getting beat and taking stupid penalties because of it (Lang). All points to not being fast, strong and fit enough to beat a young team like the Leafs.
And what the hell was that boarding call? What is boarding exactly? Why do the rules change with every referee?
To be clear, I'm not talking about the boarding call on Kosto, but the one on Markov in the 3rd.
