Lee,
Thanks for the nice words about Kevin. We're trying to polish him up so he's presentable. It's quite a challenge but we're up to the task.
One correction on my previous comment: the voices I use are from Cepstral.
Now, as for a solution for Windows, I can point you and your readers to http://www.feedvert.com/FeedSpeaker/, but I haven't used this application. It looks like it has all the key elements in it. It allows you to automatically convert feeds to text, and it allows you to select the voice you wish to have the feed converted to. That's pretty much all you need. Good luck!

Thanks for the info Giovanni, I will check those applications out. Are you familiar with anything on PC that does the same?
Also, congrats (belated) on getting Kevin Ryan on board.

Lee,
As a regular user of this type of technology, I highly encourage you to continue it. I may do the same on my blog.
I have been listening to "blogcasts" for a few months now. In fact, I came across this post while mowing the lawn today with the iPOD on. I would NEVER have the time to get through all the information without this type of technology.
I am using a combination of iPodderX and Celestal Voices for Mac Speech on Mac OS X 10.4.2 to give my blogcasts a bit of character. You can purchase different voices from them and they all sound fantastic. I currently have 5 females and two male voices that I alternate randomly while iPodderX converts blog feeds into blocasts and automaticlaly drops it into iTunes for me.
Now, I let let powerbook run with iPodderX running in the background at night and I create "KGIO" as my wife calls it.
If anyone want's more info on setting this type of process up, then feel free to drop me a line at my blog. It's heaven to have the latest blogs ready to go n your iPod with no effort on your part at all.

Hi James, I agree. It's a bit more of a novelty right now, but hopefully they will continue to improve.

Hi Lee,
I listened to the "Automatic Podcast", and yeah, it's kinda cute, but not sure if it will really take off until there's more advanced software that provides a more natural reading style. Good work starting the process though.
James.
