Good post. I do think that posting articles is a good idea. I've used ezinearticles to promote my Agraria and Niven Morgan web pages. Just make sure it's something that is news worthy. If it's nothing more than an add, then nobody is going to republish it. That's the tricky part.
Always looking for better ways to get traffic. What are the best ways to get traffic without spending a lot of time setting up eg. social networking..takes too much time!
Nice Post. I would have liked to see blogs as the source of driving traffic to a site . blogs provide you an alternative distribution channel while at the same time targetting a new segment .Article writing is probably most underated by Online marketers but it generates very well targetted traffic

What do you think about the manual click sites? Is there enough unique visitors? Will these visitors make sales for my company? I have heard that some people have tried these and just broke even. What do you think.

This is a solid list of traffic ideas. I like the mention of PRweb.com being "savvy." Only recently, they modified their service to be even more SEO friendly (by limiting the number of links per page). I use PRweb.com about once a week for clients ... great source of direct traffic and link-building.
Absent from the list is one of my favorite traffic builders -- publishing articles. I find that to be a great souce of traffic, links and positioning.

Although I call myself an SEO Specialist, my main goal is driving traffic to my clients' sites. Like you said, PRWeb is an excellent means, as well as posting articles on sites like ezinearticles.com. The great thing about news releases and articles is that they are "reprinted" all over the Web and as long as you included a link to your site somewhere in the content, you've just created thousands of links to your site. Not only does this increase your site's visibility, but all those links can increase your ranking in the search engines.
SEO is still huge and I think it will remain huge, though it's pretty clear that tagging and social networking are the "next big thing" (and I think have more staying power than simple SEO tasks).
That being said, my organization is looking for a good third party tool to manage and track ranking on each of the major search engines (particularly google). Any suggestions?

I have rode the "digg wave" many times. It can bring your website to a new plateau in terms of search engine traffic and general overall traffic.

Forget PRWeb and other press release sites. Your release will just get posted into the pile with the other 10,000 releases that day and disappear.
Don't waste your money.
You forgot forum signature. This is much better than press release and a must do before social networking.
It's nice to see something besides search. But search, of course, still dominates the web, and will increasingly dominate consumers' perceptions of entire industries and even of their local markets. It's good to keep the dialogue going.
Nice post. I think that these are some creative ideas of how to use some of the newer marketing techniques out there. I think this post hits home that new marketing methods are not as imporant as is what you do with those new methods. Thanks for the good ideas.
