It will be interesting to see if Digg goes the way of the fad traffic generators or not. It's annoying to know that they only let us see what they want us to see.
In the meantime it seems like it would make sense to keep using tried and true SEO practices. Some of the best I've found are at James Brausch's site JamesBrausch.com (not a paid affiliate link).
That would without a doubt be a horrible thing to get burried by the "digg mafia" . 
Amen - I've had it with the self-righteousness that Digg and its users have developed over the past few months. Even if you did get the traffic, how well can it really convert anymore?
