i believe in knowing all of the facts before passing judgment. And according to Madonna she has been in the adoption process for about a year. She went through the Malawi process for adoption and everything checked out. I have know reason to doubt this. Besides she is involved in charity work in Africa, especially Malawi (which I think her religion is somehow involved with). The only reason that this is an issue is because she is a pop icon. No one would even be talking about Malawi, which is i think the second poorest country in Africa with 1 million orphans (i could be wrong). Further there is no line for adopting in that country so I don't think she did anything to speed the process up aside from having high powered attorneys to handle the paperwork.

Now the only problem I have with this is the father. He changed his story several times. First saying that he is thrilled his son will be given a home and taken care of. Now I believe he is being influenced by these activist groups that are coming out of the woodworks. Being that he is illiterate, i am not surprised. And from what I understand Malawi culture may understand adoption differently, so it is possible that he was mislead. I will feel bad if Madonna did this the right way and still has to go through this drama, it's unfair. I see both sides of the fence here.

Why is it so wrong that when people, especially white famous women get interested in Africa and decide to adopt. Ok maybe I would be a little weary about Brittany and Jessica but I believe Angelina and Madonna are sincere in their causes. And what I can't stand is people questioning why can't celebs adopt from their own country? I find this very annoying. Every child in the world needs a home. I don't care where you adopt from I give them props. Plus most countries in Africa are poverty, disease, and civil war stricken. Those kids deserve a chance to live.

Thanks for reading my rant.

Question: Where is the proof that Madonna tricked the father? If anything the agency misled him because the little boy has been in the orphanage for about a year already.

I just don't understand your logic, Toya? Where are you getting this info?

Toya has no info. She makes things up and in most cases its so the story doesnt favor the white person in it. She's always blasting someone else for racism when I think the problem might be within herself. The father of this child was filmed talking about how happy he was that Madonna would be raising his child. And that he was also happy she was going to schedule visits with him thoughout the childs life. How in the world can he claim he didnt know anything about it. A child in need, is a child in need. Thank god Madonna's finally doing something other than spending her money on hypersexed publicity.

I love how Toya always starts off a rant by stating she doesnt know the facts.... "If David's father WAS manipulated and spoon-fed with a bunch of half-truths just so that Madonna could run off with him and treat him like an extended addition to her family, then in deed David Banda MUST be returned to Malawi as soon as possible."..... This implies that she doesnt know if thats the case. And then when you go through the article she acts as if this IS whats happening......."if she were a decent human-being, and knew in her heart that she wilfully abused her power to get her own way, she'd do the right thing and give David back to his father who never intentionally agreed to this adoption. "..... Toya, you're rediculous...and you have no right to comment on anything newsworthy. You don't check your fact and you spread lies. This blog is a festering bowl of hate and thank GOD I'm not coming back to it.

Gravatar Nicole's coming out with a solo debut huh? I'm all over it! The group all in all, does her no justice. Can't wait...

Gravatar children if you don't like what's being said, you have the option to go to another site. why waste your time commenting or reading anything off a blog that you feel is a festering bowl of hate ? it's her site and she has the right to say what she wants . i may not always agree with what toya says , but i respect the fact that she doesn't sugarcoat how she feels to please a few idiots who don't see things in the same way as her. you either deal with it and still remain respectful of her opinions or go somewhere else . the solution is simple.

Gravatar Nicole should "wait a minute" *Ha!* before releasing her solo set. I think early 2007 is too soon. But if she's still going to be a part of PCD, then I can see why it'd have to drop that soon. As for producers - Palow da Don is cool: He did his thing with "Buttons" and "Promise" (I'm not acknowledging "London Bridge") and Timbaland can't do no wrong. But I'd like to see her hook up with Bryan Michael-Cox, because "Steam" was...IS bangin'. And also Ryan Leslie because I think his style is hot and it'd be great and Nicole could work it.

As for Gwen - I hope her album is tight. The majority of it is produced by The Neptunes. I'm not really feelin' "Wind it up" though, I think the samples ruin it. It's not as good a song as "What you waiting for?"

As for the whole adoption thing, I feel ya Toya on the "accessory" deal. Angelina, I won't hate on - because she adopted Maddox and Zahara out of love before it became "the in thing!" And she clearly loves them kids - it just shows. But Britney - NO! She's only doing it because Madonna's done it. I don't wanna be hearing how Britney adopted some black baby and had it fall off of a kitchen counter and buss' it's head on the floor.

Gravatar Until you know all the facts, you shouldn't pass judgement toya. where is the proof you have that madonna didn't follow the proper procedure? she's been involved with this country and its orphanages for over a year. the country itself says she did everything right.

Gravatar since when is Britiney adopting an African baby?

Gravatar THAT Gwen Stefani SONG SUCKS

Gravatar There are three sides to this story, Madonna's, the father's and the truth.
I have no doubt that Madonna and Yohane love the child very much and I am sure in the end they both will make the right decision.

Gravatar I don't think this is something we should just blame Toya for--the sad fact is that most of the blogging community has jumped on this story without much in the ways of facts.

Madonna herself has written a letter detailing the adoption process. The Malowi government and the adoption agency has stated that Madonna followed all of the adoption procedures.

And frankly, the opposition has offered up nothing to prove that their accusations are true. Nothing at all. There is no evidence that Madonna didn't go by the book. The father's testimony is about as solid as water, too, because at the beginning, he was saying things like this:

"They are a lovely couple," Yohane said of Madonna and her husband Guy Ritchie. "She asked me many questions. She and her husband seem happy with David. Madonna promised me that as the child grows she will bring him back to visit."

And now that activist groups have jumped on him, he wants to change his story. Suddenly, he was duped, rottenly taken advantage of. Sorry, but I don't buy it.

The sad fact is the ONLY reason people think this was done illegally is because it's Madonna, and the media wasn't around from the beginning. We didn't see Madonna during the entire process. All the media showed was her going to Malowi and getting a child. And activists groups, needing something to sing their teeth into, jumped on it. And uninformed people, remember Madonna's scandelous past, would rather believe that she would do something wrong than actually try to offer a better home to a needing child.

Toya, I'm not going to blame you for this story--it's what a lot of uninformed people think. But I will say this: You have a very popular, respected blog. Because of that, I think you owe it to yourself, as well as your loyal readers, to atleast research these topics, first. It may come out one day that Madonna DID do something wrong, but of all the evidence presented at this point in the conflict, everything is in her favor.

Gravatar Britney doesn't need to adopt any African babies. Homegirl has two black stepchildren. She has four children in her life to take care of. No need for a little black baby accessory

Gravatar Jesus Christ!

Gravatar Bottom line, Why the fuck does she want to adopt a child that is NOT an orphan??? Daddy doesnt want the baby gone forever, he wanted the baby to be raised with education by that ugly bitch and then return to his homeland to help his family. Thats it.
Madonna must return the baby home.

Gravatar First of all, to all the people berating Toya for not knowing all the facts, lay off! She's already made it clear that what she's saying is her opinion. She never said that what she was saying was fact, and she is entitled to state her opinion, like everyone else.

Secondly, I'm fairly certain the father has changed his story several times. I read an interview with him where he said he was thrilled to have his son taken care of and adopted. And now he's claiming he didn't know?

Gravatar WHY adopt children from another country when there are thousands in America (there own homeland) that need a good home? You don't need to fly over to Africa to adopt a child. I think it's unfair for the other orphan children in Africa when one gets adopted by an American celebrity, because the others get left behing when really what the Celebrities should do is leave them in the orphan abd donate the money that they were going to use to buy the child to make them look like they really care for them children. If that is so why are you adopting ONE and leaving the others in thier trouble situation. Donate money so that all the orphan children could benefit from it instead of only one benefiting.

Gravatar Toya sometimes I swear you're so full of shit!

Gravatar Whether you adopt a child from Africa or America the sad fact is that there are children who will be left behind who will never get adopted.

Gravatar To: me not you

I understand what you're saying but why should American children get preference over African children? I don't think there's much of a difference. But I agree with your other points. I feel for all the other children in the orphanage.
