I hate to say this, if I won't buy Rihanna's album due to sheer talent, it would be out of respect for her grind.
Umbrella is hot, it's on repeat on my playlist right now, Beyonce wouldn't have done it better. It's that weak voice of Rihanna's that made it hot.

I'm sorry for what i'm going to say,because i know here are some of Rihanna's fans ,but i have my own opinion and here it is.I hate Rihanna,because she doesn't have her own style and she copies Beyonce all the time(i like some of her songs tho,wich has nothing to do with my opinion of her),but this song i find boring i couldn't even listen it the hole.Sorry that is just my opinion.
Like I said before. There are much more capable artists out there without deals or shit deals who deserve the career Rihanna has more than Rihanna herself. She is just a lucky girl who is surrounded by people who can do their jobs better than she does. Jay-Z has the resources to have her in the studio with the best producers and song writers and L.A Reid has the money to promote the hell out of her and have radio play her songs.
As for this new song...
Hate that I love you is a brilliant track. I love the music - it's like a cross between "Irreplaceable" and "Sexy love". But it sounds like it should be on Ne-Yo's album as opposed Rihanna's. This song would've been SO much better with Beyonce as her vocals would've matched Ne-Yo's so well. Rihanna just sounds so stoic and plain. Beyonce's ad-libs going up against Ne-Yo's would've been great to hear. I commend Ne-Yo for the production of Rihanna's vocals though. His arse should've been producing her vocals on "Umbrella", 'cos bitch sounded weak on that track.

I've had a change of heart! You know who would've sounded great on this track with Ne-Yo...? JoJo.
Sure she's young and Ne-Yo's older than her, but I think their voices would go really well together. Especially seeing as some of the kind of songs they do are quite similar. There is no questioning JoJo's vocal ability - I think she would've sounded amazing on this song. Why couldn't she have gotten some of the hot material Rihanna's gettin'!? *shakes head*
