I love Pharrell, and if he makes some hot tracks like he did for Madonna's album (Heartbeat, She's Not Me, Candy Shop), she'll be in good luck, because with every song he did with her album, he crafted it and made it perfect. The new album's title may be called Late Evening. Honestly, I don't think Because I Love It was horrible, but there was no variety, it was like the same song playing the whole album, and she needs to throw away that 1 Thing sound, did it for Gotta Work and a lot of people noticed.
as if def jam is better.. .they, just as every other label, have their few priorities and are ready to invest only on them. in def jam case it's rihanna and mariah...and if amerie thinks she can get some she's wrong! big time!

Def Jam is fucking up this year so. At this point, all the labels being cheap, choosing the worst singles, and not letting their artists have the an opinion is bs and with falling sales, you're only going to make money if you're independent. She won't get a big advance and she won't make much money back if/after the label recoups their money.

So the real question is whether or not it was her decision to take a backseat on the writing or the label's idea. I bet it wasn't her idea. I don't think her writing is all that really. A song or two but that's about all she's good for. She's got the rest of the goods so maybe with some stronger material, Ameria can be back on the A-List.
OT, WOW I cant believe Lil Wayne might sell a million. BUT if this is true, I cant wait for Beyonce's album to drop just so I can see the results and I know she will sell more worldwide in a week than Lil Wayne will in total! Blogs will go crazy that day!
I hated amerie because I love it the first time I listened to it, but after a while it really grew on me. I wish crush would have been a single it might have actually did something in the US.
Unfortunately, for Amerie, I doubt it will work. She has been slipping since her "1 Thing" days 3 years ago and hasn't proven everyone else wrong yet (that she can actually have a multi-platium album and be a shining star). Def Jam isn't going to do anything for her. Just look at the way they did Janet recently. Only two artists matter, Rihanna, first and Mariah Carey, second. Amerie isn't even much of a talent anyway.

I'm suprised Dangerously In Love only sold 317,000 in it's first week only, I would have thought more since Crazy In Love was an amazing single. But it's sold more than 4.2 million records in the U.S. alone so that's a good thing for her.

Yeah it's funny that - people always vote for the exciting characters to go. I've always liked Steph, even before she stood up to Alex. Infact I like all of them apart from Luke.
And I agree with Random J about "Crush" and "Touch". When I bought "Because I Love It" I listened and was like, what rubbish is this, then it came to Crush and everything changed. After that every song was a banger, especially Crazy Wonderful and Somebody Up There.
Random you forgot about "Not The Only One" from Touch though.
