Brandy is getting this much hype because we haven't heard any *new* (not leftover tracks) since 2004. In between that time, she's had a lot of personal issues, so I know she will bring it with the next album. The girl has a lot to say. Plus, Brandy voice is so unique.
Nothing against Brandy, in the 90's she was cool but now I could do without ecause I have been exposed to 3 talented stars who comes close to perfect as possible to the Perfect Star/Artist/Diva!!! So when it comes Brandy, its whatever with me.
Well Brandy is my favorite singer, it's been like that since I was little and was given the Never Say Never album for Christmas (didn't even ask for it).
I'm really lucky this year because my three favorite singers EVER are releasing albums.
Brandy's a great artist but her stans have been saying she'd be shitting on folks for years now. She didn't do it with the last album and it won't happen with the new album either. Her time came and went. I'll be happy with a new album though.
Speaking of Bran, does anyone have that Disney concert she did years ago with her brother?

That's a good look for her, hopefully she'll get the proper promotion and support her albums deserve. I'm not all that excited about one dry new song, I'm anticipating the album!
Brandy best come correct. The song would have to be REALLY bad for me not to like it - as I dig 90% of what she puts out. Released and unreleased. The question is, will it be a big hit for her. She could drop the most bomb ass song in the world and it could still flop because of lack of promo and worldwide buzz surrounding her. Brandy never really pushes promotion of her projects. The only album of hers that got a good run was Never say never and even that tailed off prematurely. "U don't know (Like U used 2)" got left by the side of the road and that song was bangin'.
Happy was another certified smash off Never Say Never that never came to see the light of day!
I don't wanna get my hopes up to much regarding the hard hitters like Beyonce and Whitney because disappointment has been around a lot this year. The underdog albums have been so much better this year. Duffy, Kevin Michael and Adele have all been totally unknown for me, until their latest albums.
I was wondering. Is it just me, or has Beyonce been away from the Limelight more than she has ever been before? Last time I saw her perform was last years B.E.T or have I forgot something? O.o

I feel you Mileka, because that was my jam too. I can't believe that wasn't dropped as a single. It's like Atlantic seemed against plugging the really uptempo Brandy singles. I mean look at Afrodisiac. First the club banger "Black pepper" was supposed to be the lead single, then they scrapped it completely for "Afrodisiac", and then they changed it to "Talk about our love" at the last minuite. The same goes for Full moon. "I thought" and "All in me" (BIG potential summer smash) should've been singles.

The difference with Mariah though, was that she had a killer, widely recognized, worldwide career before she started to decline. Even when her shit was tanking during her breakdown period; she was still getting more air time and publicity than Brandy on a good day.
I love Brandy like crazy. And there's no doubt in my mind she's gonna come with another solid, classic album. But I'm not expecting it to be a big seller and shut shit down. I hope it does, but I doubt it. Her fans will always have time for her shit and stay waiting for her music, but she needs to recapture the general music buying public too. All of her albums have had the potential to win them over, but she ends up releasing the wrong singles in the wrong order, doesn't get more than 2 singles off of an album, does no promo and then the album falls out of the charts. I'm still pissed over Afrodisiac. "Afrodisiac" should've been the first single, "Who is she 2 U" should've been the second, and "I tried" and "Come as you are should've been singles too.

Give us a powerful ballad later! First we want a sexy dance track because I know Brandy can dance she just needs practice!
