that kelly and beyonce are not great actresses is no mystery (even tho i think beyonce will get there in few years)...what annoys me is that even hudson is not a good actress. she's so overrated, her role in dreamgirls says nothing cuz she had the easiest role to play (the fat angry black woman...like doh!! i could play that too!) and starting your career with an oscar is not very good, she peaked at the beginning and from now on it will go down hill for her.. and on a personal level j.hud is such a twat, no personality, no style (!!!), no star quality.
and last thing, i'm happy kelly didn't get the part in the sex & the city movie, they just needed a black girl to gain some black audience. let hudson sell herself...
Poor kelly...i think kelly is not such a bad actress, she would have brought some freshness and sassiness if she played that part. jennifer is probably a safer choice in the movies world althought she still has to win me over as an actress. i was not really buying her during her dreamgirls glory days.

Jennifer Hudson didn't outshine anyone in DG. Her acting is stiff and she has no presence on screen. I hated the character of Effie. Even after her so-called realization and change, Jennifer still portrayed her as someone w/ an attitude who wanted the whole world to kiss her ass. In the latter part of the movie, we were supposed to have connected with the character and root for her, instead I wished she'd gotten her ass beat. The only reason she won that Oscar was because of And I Am Telling You.

SATC was always about four women. So what exactly is your point? She already got her Oscar all she need do now is act in as many small or big roles she wants and stay humble.
