Got 10 seconds into "Trouble" and turned it off - str8 boring!
"Nobody" sounds like an "Off The Wall" reject which is pretty pathetic considering we're now in 2008.

! I agree, but you know this dude swear he Babyface. The stuff he does for other artist are cool but not since So Sick has he had a smash hit. And his biggest hits as a ghostwriter is Irreplaceable & Let Me Love You. He should just stick to being a ghostwriter.
I don't think these songs are that bad. I'm not compelled to buy (or even download) his album though. Ne-Yo is just so boring to me.

I agree. He's just not cutting it as a recording artist. He and Keri Hilson should just stay underground as songwriters. I've completely given up on Keri's album. I don't think it's happening. Even then, Ne-yo is NOT a groundbreaking songwriter. 'Irreplaceable' for Beyonce was cool at first but then when they (Stargate) recycled that beat to Chris Brown's 'With You', Jordin Sparks 'Tatoo', Rihanna's 'Good Girl Gone Bad/Hate That I Love You', Leona Lewis's 'Angel' and Mariah Carey's 'Bye Bye', I'm thinking enough already. That's what I hate about some producers. When a certain sound become successful, they stick with it for however long they can until the steam just fades and they have to try something else. Ne-yo only seems to know how to write songs aimed at the pissed female perspective. It's like, can we get something new please? Can you and Stargate stop recycling the same tired ass beat/lyrics?

Toya you're so right about the whole Stargate thing, I'm so sick of hearing that beat. Hopefully it's gone for good. As for Ne-Yo, meh.. I loved his debut album, liked the song Because Of You (not the album). I'm not going to be picking his new one up. He's so blah now, the songs are tedius. Nothing sticks, they go in one ear and out the other. Nothing makes me want to place them back or downloaded them for my iPod.
I download the songs sometimes just to upload them, and always delete them off my desktop straight after.

I COMPLETELY agree with you Toya, re: Stargate recycling the same "Irreplaceable" beat over and over again. And the funny thing now, is that they're beginning to abuse that same ol' techno shit they started off with Rihanna's "Please Don't Stop The Music."
I really like them as producers, but they need to change up their styles a bit more.
Aside from all that, I'm not impressed at all with Ne-Yo's music. His shit is so god damn boring and bland. He needs stop and just stick to song writing.
Strangely enough, I actually don't mind Stargate recycling their shit. All of those songs have been hits. The problem is, Ne-Yo writes better songs for others than himself and he doesn't release his best songs. "Sex with my ex" and "angel" should've been singles from the last album.
I agree Julien. They continue to recycle the beat because it works, and even though the beats sound similar atleast the tracks are good. Angel is my favourite song off Leona's album and I think it's the only stargate track. I also love Tatoo and With You.

trouble - the baking track to the song is pretty solid it ne-yo lyrics and voicals that don't match the trak he just dose not suit this style.

i heard closer is ne-yo's take on funky/soulful house/ bassline? lol it sounds nothing like funky house to me.
I am actually feeling Trouble but Nobody has to go! The beats are very similar to me but Nobody should be sung by Nobody! You are so right about his production/stargate they use the same beat over and over it is quite sad. I have never bought a neyo CD and I don't think that is about to change.

Ne-Yo isn't doing anything 4 me with all these leaked songs. Hes not bringing the heat like on his 1st album.
On his 1st album he was relevant cos he was a fresh face and voice to the scene. And his songs were actually dope. I remember the first time I heard "Stay With Me" and then "So Sick" and I hadn't heard nothing like them.
But he got too comfortable with the success of his first album and then lazy. He needs a change of direction to become relevant again. Maybe working with a whole set of hot producers instead of being greedy and trying to do it himself or with stargate cos it ain't working no mo'
