@ Gosh, Usher's career was NEVER in trouble to begin with. Kanye West said some degrading things about biracial women (he called them 'mutts') and it didn't affect his sales. Eminem used the n-word and referred to black women as 'gold diggers' and it didn't affect his career either (although he got saved by the Michael Jackson drama). In fact, CONTROVERSY is what builds up the artist more than ever. Polow didn't save Usher's career because:
1. It was NEVER in trouble in the first place
2. Usher can be an asshole at times but the public know Usher can bring the heat musically and will buy into it no matter what.
Controversy doesn't really affect anyone. If anything it helps their case.
