Jet noise is okay, but nothin beats the way all twelve of those cylinders sound when a Merlin is running at it's peak.

I LURVES me some jet noise. A big sigh is in order here, though, now that the Lawn Darts have left Cannon. C-130s just ain't the same. NOt even close.

Pfft, jets are for kids... No one ever described the raucous mess coming out of the back of a tube as anything but noise (well, almost no one unless you happen to be single engine over the big briney blue and said noise suddenly stops - then it's pure music *if* you get it started again, but we digress). Give me a Merlin or a P&W "corn cob" at full song and that right there is a symphony even Arthur Fiedler couldn't make sound better....
