I've never actually taught english to foreign kids, although I was offered a job doing so several years ago at a local community college, and do work with them a little. It can be very rewarding, but also quite frustrating. My fulltime job involves working with a lot of refugees, primarily the Montagnards from Vietnam and Russian Jews, but I didn't have the time or energy to spare to work another job too. Being a fulltime single dad and Social Services supervisor pretty much takes it all these days, unfortunately, although it's my goal to "get a life' again very soon.

Exactly Batty! There's something very poetic in it's stiltedness. Steve, did you ever get to teach any english to foreign students? I always thought that might be an enjoyable job.

Thanks for the tip! I can't decide if it is prose or poetry.

ESL kid, all the way.
I had a p.t. gig some years back reading standardized proficiency exams of high schoolers.
The verb tenses really give 'em away.
