Gravatar By footnotes, I mean the informational kind. The kind where there's a sentence or two at the bottom of the page that says something like "this is a poem by Tracey," or perhaps something a bit less kindergarten-sounding.

Alternatively, one could have an introduction, like "this is something I wrote today."

But now that I think about it, the "If I had a title, it would go here" at the top of the entry might have been a clue.

It's possible that I'm just really thick and enjoy doling out advice even when it's probably not appropriate or necessary.

At least you know I'd make a point of trying to help if it was something serious though, right?

And, I may add, getting a complete stranger to care about your emotional state is no mean feat.

Gravatar I enjoy it. It's fun in a strange way to dredge up emotionally charged material and toy with it I think!

Footnotes... hmm I was never very good with those in school, but yeah, maybe it would help!

One clue is that when I am writing just for the sake of writing, the structure will be very definite and somewhat less conversational than my usual posts.

Gravatar Hey, thanks for un-banning me! I probably posted from our office IP, so I hope no one in our office is abusing you. Ironically, the person you describe did the same thing that I defined as stalking on NB's page. Spooky...

Sometimes it is hard to stay up-to-the-minute on the emotional roller-coaster. Even when I feel good, I will take out some dark and scary thought, play with it a little, then put it back. Does writing about past hurts make you sadder, or is it cathartic and freeing?

Gravatar Hmm.

Well, sorry.

But it's not always clear what's personal and what's creative writing.

Maybe some footnotes would help.
