First, I want to preface that though I have perused your blog, this is ther first time I have commented on it. I find it thoroughly enjoyable and a pleasnt distraction overall. Having said that, I have often thought that life is a zeitgeist of pain. Those people who truly suffer, the poor, the lonely, the ones who have nothing, especially here in America where we are taught to ignore our problems rather than confront them, need advocacy of some kind. It sickens and disheartens me when I see the news and I agree with you completely.

I have a friend who says that sooner or later the have-nots are gonna come banging on the door of the haves. It's gross that half the world is starving and our biggest problem in North America is obesity.

I've had a glass of wine too many but...
yes, we have so much more than some others
BUT,
our neighbors also have so much more than those others' neighbors
SO,
in order to be "normal" we "need" more
They would be just like us if they had all our stuff...they are just as discontented as we are
When you think - our welfare recipients expect to have phones, TV, probably a car - a full home of furniture...to eat out now and then plus have their beer and cigarettes (I'm talking career welfareites not the temporary truly needy)

That smell you talk about. I hate that smell. It's the smell of ragweed.
