Bought some Co-op 99 tea earlier this evening. I find it strange being re-labled as Fairtrade. I have bought it since about 1994(ish) when the Co-op stated that it would ensure fair prices and conditions. I guess it was Fairtrade before the term was invented.

Hi. Thanks for the post. We used to get 99 Tea like you. Bit of an institution. I expect that the Fairtrade label is a recent development and that the producers did not get as good a share in the profits as they maybe should have done, although the position was probably better than the competition. Well done on the Co-op for correcting this though. HAve a good day.
