Thanks for the comment Shauna. Just seen your site. Will link to it when I get a moment after the kids are tucked up in bed. Also had a look at Quail by mail. If you wanted to write a piece for my blog, please do and I will put it on. All in favour of ethical supply chains and promoting small businesses in the UK. Cheers.

Hanging out clothes to dry on the line is incredibly satisfying and also very good for your whites; apparently the sun bleaches them so you get the lovely fresh smell and whiter than white towels etc.. just watch out for the occasional bird poop!
Also Ecover toilet duck stuff is terrific (I've a sad little life I know) but it contains eucalyptus so smells amazing - there's no going back for me!

Totally agree in the tried and tested method of outdoor drying! I've twice met amazing wildlfe due to bringing in clothes from the washline: (1) a huge, multicoloured moth like something from the Amazon (2) a bat - cute, adorable, tiny little thing
We use the whole range of Ecover products in the house--utter fan. Stores are starting to sell their own-brand eco cleaning products but personally I believe Ecover has the eco ethics to do it properly.

hanging outside for us requires running down three flights of stairs and the drying green is very shady and out of view of our flat. We usually dry clothes on clothes airers inside. Have never owned a tumble dryer.

I remember my first few years of marriage we didn't have money for a druer so we would hang out the clothes on the line. THe time I spent with my wife hanging out clothes was wonderful too. It's the simple things in life that make the best memories.

The waterless car wash pushes the envelope on how we clean cars while reducing the carbon emissions typical found in conventional cleaners. Most noted is the fact that a standard garden hose, when used to wash a car at home, will expel approx, 100 gallons of water for 10 minutes of washing. Unbelievable.
For those who are aware of the impacts of water wastage with the current drought crisis in several continents across the world, one hundred gallons of water is pretty much to save. A waterless car wash provides the same results of orthodox cleaning sometimes even better since most contain a wax that enhances shine.
This can be a double edged sword, however since most cleaners contain toxins which are harmful to the environment. Companies like ForLifeProducts or Seventh Generation aim to make products that provide solutions for everyday living that are eco-friendly and safe on the environment. The lastest product released was the Rejuvenate Waterless Car Wash. Check the ingredients here: http://rejuvenateauto.com
Wouldn't it be great if the norm would be "waterless" to wash a car? Think of the tons of water you could save in just one week!

...and not only that, but there's nothing as fresh as wind-dried washing! Great blog by the way.
