What a great post! We went on the demo yesterday (Sat 19/1) and were delighted to see how many people turned out, despite the weather. It's not just the puppet theatre tho is it? It's the idea that any government, democratically (not sure if I spelt that right!) to serve the people, can possibly consider cutting funding for the arts - if we don't feed our souls, which is what all the arts do, then our souls will be extremely unhealthy - or even dead - hence the rise of the "yob" culture. Sorry for rambling....

Thanks for your post. Unfortunately I couldn't get to the demo and am glad it went well. Really impressed with all of you that turned up as reported by the Evening News. Here's hoping it makes a difference and the Arts Council makes an apology and re-starts a process about funding that is transparent, involves dialogue over a reasonable time period and is fair.
